BORN: JAN 10, 1929

EDMUND WALL January 10, 1929 - October 30, 2017 Edmund Wall, born in Plum Coulee, Manitoba to Susannah Wall (nee Giesbrecht) and Johan Wall, beloved husband of 64 years to Violet Wall, loving father to Tim Wall (Don Rogers) and David Wall, and grandfather to Jordan and Elizabeth Wall (Adam Kozak). Ed started his working life during the great flood of 1950 as a journeyman cable splicer for the Manitoba Telephone System, retiring after 34 years in the engineering department. A selfless man dedicated to serving others, he donated countless hours to the church, CancerCare Manitoba, donating blood and quietly trying to ease the burdens of his neighbours however he could. Ed was perhaps the happiest when working on the family cottage he built at Winnipeg Beach or working in the fields while on summer vacation at cousin Arne and Betty Hafer's fruit farm in Michigan. Every day Ed demonstrated the meaning of love and the tremendous responsibility that comes with being a husband and father. He taught his sons what it meant to be a real man, to be kind and gentle, compassionate and caring, tolerant, humble, and generous, to listen more than talk and live with integrity. Unfortunately, he was less successful at trying to teach them basic car mechanics and sports but not from a lack of trying. Ed was the best of men. A private family interment will follow at a later date. The family is incredibly grateful to the staff at Oakview Extendicare for the loving care Dad received while in their charge.
